Go on the cruise lines website and look at shore excursions. It will tell you what you can do while you are in each stop and how much time it takes to do it.The cruiseline can set it up for you.In Miami , South Beach area about 20 minutes from port - is really the best place to go , It has beautiful beaches , shopping and restaurants.

Have Fun !

go to www.cruisecritic.com Needless to say thing really all depends on what you like to do. Cozumel has the most options. Plenty of beach clubs. If you like to scuba or snorkle, this is also a great place. This is a national park Chaankabab ( or something like that) which has alot of stuff. Also, the dunebuggy tours are a blast. Coz is pretty modernized and safe, you don't have to sign up for an organized tour. Be careful in Ocho and do not wander off on your own. It is safe if you do a tour but it is unsafe to jump into a cab on your own. Most people do Dunns river falls.. if you like adventure, try the 'origional canopy tour'. It is a blast.

Hi, Broc.

It sounds like a nice trip and I do not want to throw a wet blanket on it at all but I have two cautions for you.

1. Remember that you are cruising in hurricane country in hurricane season. The ships are good at avoiding the worst of it but you may experience a day or more of really rough weather (beyond what the ship's stabilizers can handle) and they may need to skip one or more of the destinations. That happened to my wife and me last year. We cruised right after hurricane Wilma came through and descimated Cancun, Cozumel, etc. Half the passengers spent one day throwing up. And for all of us, instead of 3 days at sea and 4 days in port, we spent 2 days in port and the rest of the time floating around because we could not go into Cancun or Cozumel. The cruise line's attitude was, "too bad about yours, we got ours" as they offered no real apology and no refund. I do not mean to alarm you at all. I only want to call your attention to the possibilities so you can start to get your mind around them a little.

2. It is really important to get a good travel medical policy. So much can go wrong even on a well-run cruise such as food-borne illnesses from trips ashore to injuries if the ship takes a lurch. Most ships have medical doctors and nurses but they charge A LOT (it is not part of what you paid for with your ticket) and if you need care ashore, you'll want to be able to pick where you receive it. Also, many things can happen that would cause cancellation. It is best to have your trip insurance separate from your travel arrangements to avoid any possible conflict of interest. Go to http://www.wavehelp.com/travel-medical/index.htm and click on the red phone booth to read about "Worldwide Health" insurance from the industry leader.

Best wishes.

my god man, stay off the cuise liners, if you dont get pushed overboard, you get kidnapped, or your wife does, or both. and if that doesnt happen, food poisoning, robbery, rape, murder and so much more fun on the ships. from tilting to sinking to ice burgs, ya ya i know the carribean, but i wouldnt be surprized if you see an ice burg anyhow since the captain and crew will be 3 sheets to the wind 4 hours before you set sail.
